Love is Patient

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. I Cor. 13:4-8

In the DVD series, The Art of Marriage, there are six sessions. Their names are Love Happens, Love Fades, Love Dances, Love Interrupted, Love Sizzles, and Love Forever. You can almost see the history of one’s marriage by the names here…..from the excitement of new love, to the ups and downs of your relationship, to the many stresses and strains a marriage (especially a military marriage) endures (hopefully) to the culmination of passing a loving, living spiritual legacy of a Christian marriage onto your children…..without Christ’s unconditional agape love, this legacy will not happen. Have you thought about your marriage relationship lately….two of my grandchildren call this Corinthian verse the “16 loves”. Where is your love for your husband today? It’s easy to take the 16 loves test and ask for forgiveness, if needed and keep on the road of ‘agape perseverance’
Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, Thank you Lord for your Word, that two edged sword that pierces to the heart of the matter quickly. Show me Lord where I have fallen short, help me to forgive quickly and ask for forgiveness where needed.
