Dear Family and Friends,

Today as we pray for our soldiers, I want to also remember families.  We are up close and personal here at Ft Bragg with the devastation of families from 13 years of war.  Steve gave a Valentine’s message today in chapel and over 20 families came up for prayer afterwards asking for healing and relief from stress. It is heartbreaking but our God is a help, a healer, a comforter of the weary and a fortress for those who need refuge.  Psalm 40 is one of my favorite and the psalm that brought me great comfort over the years.

“I waited patiently for the Lord,

He inclined to me and heard my cry.

He brought me up from the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire,

And set my feet upon a rock, and gave me a firm place to stand.”  Psalm 40: 1,2.

Gracious and Mighty Father,

We thank you Lord for your blessings and provision.  We praise You Father for you are gracious, all loving, and faithful in all ways.  We praise you for the protection of our loved ones and we bring them to You once again.  Keep them in safe places, go before them on their missions and help them to honor You in all ways.  We thank you for their commanders and the wisdom that comes from You.  We pray the Afghani people and leadership will have discernment and wisdom as they move to the next stage for their country.  Give them strength and courage to do the right thing for their people.  We thank you Lord for your mercy and compassion.

For the families back home, we lift them up to you.  Give them the power of your Holy Spirit to do the right things for their marriages and families.  Pour your love out to them and uphold them with your mighty right hand.  Open up doors for them to get help that no man can close.

O Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.

In Jesus Mighty and Precious Name we pray,

Amen.

Carleene
